Boost Communications was established in 2000 as a spinoff from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. In the ensuing decade the company has grown to become a preferred supplier of mobile web, mobile marketing and mobile advertising solutions and services for brands and advertisers, publishers and agencies internationally.
Boost has key focus on the Scandinavian, UK and Middle East markets.
In 2008 we opened our Dubai office. Boost has been front runners in building up mobile advertising from scratch in the region, and we today have a leading market position within mobile advertising in the region.
In 2012 we launched Madmaker, the mobile ad maker that allows anyone to build mobile campaign sites in less than 5 minutes with no technical skills.
In 2014 we established our own development department in Krakow, Poland. In one year we have grown to become 13 highly skilled team members.
In January 2005, Boost established a US subsidiary. Boost Communications Inc, specializing in SMS messaging services for the radio and media industry in the US. In late 2006, Boost Communications became a minority shareholder of Boost Communications Inc which later changed its name to mSnap, Inc. Over the last 5 years mSnap, Inc’s management team had developed it into a market leader and now one of the largest SMS ad networks in the US. In 2010, mSnap, Inc was acquired by Marketron Broadcast Solutions, LLC.
In 2006, Boost Communications founded a new a subsidiary, Boostcom Media, to provide customer loyalty and marketing tools for shopping centers in Norway. By 2010, Boostcom Media had developed into a profitable market leader, collaborating with more than 100 shopping centers and retail chains. The company is based in Trondheim, Norway.

Øystein Skiri, Founder and CEO (40)
Øystein R. Skiri is the Founder & CEO of Boost Communications. He started Boost straight from university back in 2000, and has built Boost to become a leading mobile advertising company in several markets. For more than 14 years he has been a front runner in the evolution of mobile; from SMS services to mobile publishing and advanced mobile advertising, and he has hands-on experience from building up mobile business in markets like the Nordics, UK, Middle-East, South Africa and the US. He served as advisor in «The 2020 Group», the advisory board to the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, and also holds board positions at ICT Norway and previously Berner Gruppen/Dagbladet, which is Norway’s second biggest tabloid. Øystein holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology and University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Kjetil Kristensen, Cofounder and EVP Programme Management (39)
Co-founded Boost in 2000. 15 years of experience with acquiring pre-competitive R&D funding and running R&D projects. Frequently speaks and publishes internationally on a broad range of topics related to collaborative innovation, collaborative strategies and collaborative performance assessment. Has been managing multi-functional and distributed software development teams for over 6 years. Experiments with Agile Software Development since 2004 and eagerly shares his experiences during various conferences, in podcasts and other publications. Masters degree in Computer Science from AGH – University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland.
Jon Øyvind Eriksen, Chairman of the Board
Principal at the Norwegian government’s venture fund Investinor. Serial entrepreneur with a proven track-record in leading technology and media companies. 15 years as CEO, he has provided leadership through most phases, including start-up, growth, expansion and exits. MSc in biotechnology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). MBA with Distinction from London Business School.
20 years of experience from the mobile industry. Founder and CEO of several groundbreaking and fast growing companies in the industry. Specilizes in corporate finance and corporate development from early-stage to industrial exit. Facilitated venture capital funding for OneCall, Electronic Tracking Systems (ABAX) and Boost Communications. Bachelor in Marketing Management from NMH and a Minor in Sociology from The University of Oslo.
Co-founder of Nxt Lvl, formerly Executive Vice President at Opera Software. Joined Opera in 1999 – grew from from 12 employees to a 700+ company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Founder and CEO of Televenture and Norsk Innovasjonskapital. Televenture was founded in 1993 as the venture arm of the Telenor Group ASA in Norway. From 1993 – 2010, Mr. Rinnan managed seven funds (Telenor Venture I – VII). Seven of the previous portfolio companies have today annual revenues in excess of NOK 1 billion. Mr. Rinnan had executive positions in ABB group 1989-1993. He holds a Master of Management from Norway.
Gun H. Svendsen
CEO of Byggteknikk Drift AS. A family owned investment firm with investments varying from property to IT. Broad experience in developing start-ups and is hands-on in all her investments. Invested NOK 50 million in start-up companies in the Trondheim region. Mrs. Svendsen holds a Bachelor in Auditing and Accounting from Trondheim Business School.
